I was curious, are there any official trail names for the Knoch Knolls trails? If not has there ever been any thoughts to name them?

There are no official names for the trails there. I've got a few ideas though.

The north west river trail tends to be called "Jedi" though I have always favored "River Run" myself as you can take it kind of flat out....
As for the others I am not aware of any other names floating around.

We should give them names.
I've heard Ben refer to the interior singletrack in the eastern half as Cloverleaf, which I like. We could refer to the two segments of that trail as North Clover and South Clover, if we ever need to distinguish the two.
For the singletrack that runs along the west branch in the northeast part of the park, I was thinking either Cliffhanger (referring to the section of that trail along the river where the roots are waiting to kick your tire off the trail over the edge into the river), or PCH, as in Pacific Coast Highway (US 101), which, like this trail, runs through forest (Redwood National Forest), by giant houses (Hearst Castle and homes in Malibu), and hugs "cliffs" along a body of water (Big Sur).
Hadn't heard of Jedi or River Run for the singletrack along the web branch at the west end of the park, but along similar lines (ie, a fast trail along a river), I was thinking of Rapids (when riding that trail, you could refer to it as "running the Rapids").
I was actually thinking of River Run for the singletrack that runs along the east branch at the southeast end of the park, as short for A River Runs Through It, referring to the fact that the river is often literally running through that trail.
That leaves the small stretch of singletrack that runs from the east parking lot along the treeline to the multitrack, near the trailheads for the interior singletrack (Cloverleaf). Haven't thought of anything good for that trail yet.
If we want to name the multitrack, one thought for the multitrack at the southwest end is Confluence, for the obvious reason.
Anyway, just some ideas. Feel free to take 'em or leave 'em.

The names that I actually use are fairly mundane. I call the inner loop, "the inner loop,". I really like cloverleaf though. I think I did coin that title a year or so ago. I call the west side trail "the west side trail". I call the section along the northeast section of the park Suicide Ridge and the section by the houses, "by the houses." I call the section by the lower river "the lower river," ...and by the baseball fields, I call it "by the baseball fields." We need better names. Anyone wanna take a stab at it?

Really nice suggestions. I also like of the North Cloverleaf and South Cloverleaf name split option as well. That could come in really handy for trail reports i.e. North Clover is fine, but stay off South Clover. Here are my votes:
Northeast trail - Cliffhanger Northwest Trail - Jedi Southern River Trail - River Run Inner loop - Cloverleaf

I like the names, particularly Cloverleaf. One thing with Cloverleaf is that if we have a North and South version and we want to say North is fine but keep of South then we need a connector between the two unless I am misunderstanding what is cloverleaf. I attempted to put the names against the map and added one name for myself "Rocky Road" as there are a nice series of rocks on that trail to catch you out.
Does this make sense or do I have the names in the wrong stop?

I've always hated the name Jedi for the northwest trail. I'd love to use a different name if we actually adopt any of these names. As for the place to kick out of the inner loop, "Cloverleaf," you can hop back out to the multitrack just before/after the two stream crossings depending on if you're going clockwise or not.

I agree I don't like Jedi either. I would prefer a better name.
I'm still confused on the N and S Coverleaf areas. Is this better?

I'd be up for a trail walk with any interested folks who would like to walk the map & flesh out the detail for potential trail names.
Plus it's give us a reason to go to KK while it's wet since we won't be riding anyway.

In the Spring the Jedi - errm needs a name - trail is a delight with what I would call Bluebells. I'm not sure the name of the North American variety. But how about Bluebell Alley instead of Jedi or is that too much a pansy name

I'll be up for a walk. Lets give it a couple of days to dry out again first. I'll bring the dog...

Maybe we can do a walk on Friday, or possibly next week. I'm most likely going to Michigan over the weekend.
As for the Bluebell name, I wouldn't want that name since we only see them on the trail for a couple of weeks a year. Maybe we could stick with the Star Wars theme and name the trail Beggar's Canyon or the Deathstar Run?

I'm interested as well. I'll probably be out of town this weekend, but could possilby make it Friday or sometime next week. Maybe we should take a pass on a Starwars theme trail name all together. Drawing a blank on other suggestions.

Could call it "Chicago" as you ride like most Chicagoans drive when on it. I.e. flat out and weaving in and out..
