Well, at least click that you "like" it.   See what I did there?

Set up an unofficial-official facebook page for the bike park. You can like it here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Plainfield-Bike-Park/127509163959204

Just friend it so it can get going. I know cambr has it's own page but I figured something a bit seperate might be good for the park.

It's actually part of my plan to do some promo for the park along with the text thing and some other stuff. I've just been lazy lately and haven't put anything into motion really. I'm finally doing the signs for the park and will put those up this week, they will have a little mention to find us on facebook as well.

Once it's all done, it will make sense, trust me.

What's wrong with one official CAMBr FB? Can you code something that replaces the link that refers back to the PBP cambr.org site from the official page?

There is already a Palos Mountain Bike Trails page that was set up previously that may confuse some people.

Well, I was hoping this would be more like a "fan" page that the local park riders sort of take over for themselves. Posting pics, videos, and using it to meet up for rides or whatever. I'll only barely administer it by just posting notices about work days (build days).

But if the cambr bosses don't like it, I can take it down.

I would like to see where it goes though if people don't mind.

My overall goal here is to bring people into the system in a way that's a bit easier to swallow. Sending people to the cambr site is a bit overwhelming and doesn't make much sense to them. For example, I meet people at the park who seem eager to help, but telling them about cambr and what it does is a bit overwhelming. People get apprehensive when they hear about all that, they don't want to commit right off the bat so they just tune out. This way, they'll check it out, see some pics, maybe get on the text list and start to see there is a cool organization behind the running the park and hopefully get involved.

So a sort of soft sell that gradually brings them in and gets them involved is what I'm going for here.

I think I see. Something more focused on Dirt Jammin'.

There was a dedicated site for just the Bike Park, but that was before FB.

Too late, I'm back to being lazy. But I'll see what I can get done from poolside here.
