So I noticed there's not much action happening at SWK this year.  No large group rides, No take a swig ride, whats going on?  I was looking forward to the take a swig ride this year but I have not seen anything posted about it.  Just looking for some more action I guess, and another reason to drink after a ride.

Honestly, we have had trouble with enough volunteers.  Dom is wrapped up in the workdays and West put a lot of effort into the Garden Jam.  The Plainfield Jam might be thin this year too, not many people helping with SWAG calls.  Even the take a swig rides take at least 30 hours over the whole year to organize.  2008, the focus was Plainfield, 2009 SWK, and 2010 the garden.

West has been trying to work on the next generation of leaders for West and been coming up a bit thin.  Anyone interested?

This has been a challenging year for a lot of the West Board and volunteers and we've been trying our best. Life has been throwing obstacles our way between weddings, job changes, job losses, babys being born or coming later this year and the other more typical life stuff.  As I type this I'm still looking at another 3 hours in the office and am shopping online for things to stock the nursery for the little one I'm expecting this winter.

Like Mark mentioned we can always use more help and if there is something West has done in the past that you would like to help us continue to do or revive feel free to contact a board memeber and we can work together to make it happen.

congrats on the new baby Sean, we just had our new baby girl 3 weeks ago.  What kinds of things would you need help w/?  Due to the new baby my riding has gone down a lot and the amount of time I spend at home is way up. I cant do much but if you have some tasks I could do from home I would gladly do them.

Right now the focus is on the Dirt Jam.  I do have some ideas for a Halloween themed swig ride at SWK that could use a project manager.

I have a great idea for an event that good could take place at this swig ride... It's something i've perfected doing while riding a bike. NTG!
