Truth be told the system is a mess right now.  We just got the DNR to install a closed/open sign that can be easily changed and are trying to come up with a solution for the phone recording, it probably hasn't been updated for months.  Even during the summer they would only change the recording every week at best.  Matthiessen shares its small staff with Starved Rock SP and Buffalo Rock SP so its hard to get them to check on conditions then go back and change the phone recording more frequently.
