Possible nature center coming to Knoch Knolls. Park District having a meeting about it Nov 9th 6pm-8pm The Barn 421 W Martin (near Edwards and Naperville Central HS) http://www.napervilleparks.org/webpages/content.aspx?pagecontentid=10001212No idea what this might mean for the MTB trails but normal not good if other nature centers are to go by.

Need Ben and a crew to be at this meeting. Doesn't sound too good. Need to show that MTB'ers are the main trail users there.

I wasn't aware of these plans. I'll try to see if I can make it out to this.
Can anyone else join me in order to have us show a big presence?

Might not make it because of my dad's birthday, if I have a chance I'll be there.

According to the NPD representative, if this Nature Center is built, it will have no effect on trail access. Good news!

Looks nice. I assume the "if" is dependent on the city figuring out funding.

If it goes forward, it will be funded by a PARC grant from the IL DNR.

I got a chance to look over all the PDFs & I like what I see. I plan to email the park district & voice my support.

It looks very nice. I see the comment about prairie restoration. Does that mean that they plan to do something with the grasslands to the south west of the park?
One concern is that on most prairie restorations that have been undertaken in this area, the public have lost access to the prairie area. It's a case of you can look from a distance but don't tread. Something to keep an eye on....
