Well, with the fun out of the way, some news for you.

We have been talking with the Oswego Park District for a while about getting signage and a kiosk at Saw Wee Kee. I'm told the fruits of that effort should be seen soon—park staff are close to installing both! If you've noticed plastic tape around the park, they're part of their effort to mark where the signage will be installed. If you get injured out there, you should have a numbered marker nearby that you can read off to 911. That should help them find you!

This is part of their effort to "bring order" to some of the chaos in the park layout. The next phase will be to close some connectors and a few segments of trail that they find extraneous or overly dangerous (segments that can be bypassed with existing trail). The good news is that the connectors are pieces that won't really be missed. The bad news is that there will be a few good lost pieces—I'm told the impact to trail length will be small though. We don't have a clear idea of what their plan is as it has not been finalized. But once we know, we'll let you know.

Most trails have a kiosk at the trail head to show you a trail map, park info, rules & restrictions, etc. Now we get one too.

Like at the mall.
I hope there is somebody working at the kiosk to put my dogs picture on a coffee cup.
Maybe a liscense plate frame or clip on mullet.

Is the PD doing the trail closures alone or with CAMBR input/labor?

The only time CAMBr will assist in closing a trail is if another is offered in return, or a significant safety issue is involved, which many times would then involve a reroute.  CAMBr may also elect not to maintain or close a trail that is not sustainable.

All trail closings planned for SWK at this time are not supported by CAMBr. We have expressed our opinion and it has been recognized.  Keep in mind nothing is final at this time.

If you are getting advice from me, I would strongly suggest you get a second opinion.
