Niiice!  I really like that bike Mike.  Like Ryan, that could be the only rigid I might consider and you can convert to a twenty-niner too.  Might kill three birds clay pigeons with one stone for me, rigid, fat tire, and twenty-niner.

Why would you kill birds, Larry.  I mean...what have they done you?  I could see it if maybe they pooped on your car...

Does getting pooped on by one on my honeymoon count as a good reason to hate them?  Though some of them do taste pretty good!

New chain, tight with the rear wheel slammed (old one stretched too much).

I always love when I can contribute to this thread.  Finally got this bad boy painted (I hated the tan).  Profile cranks will be on as soon as I get a chain.

Looking to get mine painted or powder coated, where did you go for yours?

There is a place up North I've heard of, Crystal Lake I think, but I can't remember the name.  I've used CPC Powder Coating in Crest Hill.  Quality of the work was great but he got powder in the races of the integrated headset even after I told him to mask that off.  A little time with the dremel fixed it just fine and for the price I was ok with the 15 minutes of clean up.  I want to say it was $90 for it to be blasted and coated with a solid color.

Vanilla Gorilla in Carol Stream stripped and powder coated a frame for me, in one color, for $100. Did a good job and as he does a fair amount of BMW bikes, he knows what to tape off.

If you are getting advice from me, I would strongly suggest you get a second opinion.

I lucked out; the guys in the body shop where my husband works prepped and sprayed it for me. We had to chase the bb a bit but that was it.

J & J powder coating up in Zion does bikes...

They've done everything for me, lowers on my fork, pedals, bars, cranks, etc....

Tape everything off....

May be a bit too far North for you though.....

NS majesty - The plan was to paint it, but now I'm thinking of waiting for a little while before I do.

Looking good Matt.  Is that what you are going to beat on us with this year?

I have almost finished with updating the Q.  Only need to put the XT trail pedals on and it will be ready for singletrack.  Once the singletrack is ready for us that is.
