For anyone sick of looking at red dots for trail conditions. Go head up to ft custer, its in perfect condition. We did 3 loops today 2 red and 1 green, at an 11 mph pace. This old fat guy was proud of the pace. Ft custer is definitely my favorite trail system, so many technical areas, good flat spots for speed and some decent climbs(nothing major). Just a lot of variations on the trail. Took us 2.75,hours from north Aurora. Plus the bike shop just outside park custers cyclery, is one of the coolest bike shops that cater to mt bikes that I have been in.

Thanks for the update. I am going to ride there on Sunday morning. Looking forward to it. Are there any other trails within an hour or two of fort cluster that I should visit as well?
Mike

We rode our last loop with a local, he said there was another trail system about 45 minutes away, but I forget the name. Your best bet is stop at custer cycles they ride everyday and he will know. They are open Sundays

Thanks for the info. Did not get to Yakee or TK, but rode everything at Ft Cluster. The trails are in great shape. Mike

Instead of starting new. Fort Custer is again in great condition. The red loop has been changed a lot, and for the better, no ride around grannys garden now, and a bunch more trails put in. They are fast and flowy as always.

TK is ok but not epic, it is in Vandalia, MI. I ride there frequently becuase it is close my family place in Michigan. They put on a nice TT each year.

Road Custer today. Having ridden it for the last 20 years since it was open it was a huge surprise to find completely different trails and routes. But it was great, they did an awesome job of connecting existing trail and building new ones.
And the big plus is you no longer have to worry about horse crap as they have their own designated trails now.
