Have the day off Friday and was looking to getting a ride in at Kickapoo.  It looks like rain is projected for tonight into Wednesday down that way.  Any one with experience there know how fast it dries out?

Not fast.  With the amount of rain in the forecast thru Wednesday, I would not expect it to be ridable on Friday.

Might want to hit up the locals for a more accurate answer:

That is what I was afraid of seeing as how it was a former strip mine with some wetlands around.  Thanks for the link.

We had a fair amount of rain earlier in the week and the trails were in pretty decent shape Saturday. Depending on how much rain we get over the next few days, they might be alright by Friday. All the leaves are a blessing and a curse at this point. They funnel a good chunk of the water off the trails, but they also keep the dirt from drying out underneath. I'll post an update in a couple days for ya.

Sweet, I'd appreciate it!

Made the trip and the crew down at Kickapoo know what they are doing.  No standing water after two days of rain earlier in the week .  Everything was very rideable (except an up hill portion of 7 and "heaven and hell").  The playground area rocked and the scattered skinnys and jumps on the flat sections were an unexpected surprise.  Can't wait to go back!

Any guesses or insight into a ride on Fri at Kickapoo? I'll be traveling through and wanted to hit it up.

Not sure how much rainfall they received yesterday but your Friday trip is similar to mine.  It rained a little more than a half an inch on the Tues night/Wed morning prior.  Started riding around 10:30 on Veteran's Day (Fri) .  Two of the steaper uphill sections needed a hike a bike but we left no tracks other than that.  Some of the more exposed and higher elevation spots were bone dry.  If I was planning on going and they got 1/2-3/4 inch I would have no reservations in riding.  May want to check kickapoombc.org, the people down that way are great and more than willing to give advice and even drive over to help with repairs!

Made the trip today to Kickapoo...it's very nice! I'll definitely return in the spring/summer when it's drier. Some crazy climbs with switchbacks, too many log overs and jumps to count, ample logs to ride, and very cool scenery. If you haven't made this trip put it on the list. I was solo, but met up with a guy and his son. It'd be very cool to get a group ride together and spend a long day on this trail system. The Kickapoo crew has done a tremendous job here! The local bike shop, Cycles Plus was a great stop as well. Good conversation with Keith over there.
