well, i finally snuck out for a little bit today around the local forest preserve. turning a corner onto a wooden bridge that was still wet and covered with leaves and i bit it hard. smacked my hip and shoulder pretty hard. if i was a few years older i may of broke a hip!

that was a quick eye opener to the changing conditions we need to be aware of out there!!!!

thats all. carry on

Did the same coming down a slight s curve hill before taking on a wooden bridge (just south of the Geneva water t-ment plant) at an angle.  Hip and elbow issues and nicked up my three day old cross bike.  Note to self, buy a respectable lighting system so other riders won't have to jump my carcass on the trail.

I just bombed it there Monday night. I was on my road bike heading home from PPC in Batavia. Any faster around that fence and I might have ended up in the water. Slid right past a homeless dude taking a nap. Damn wet leaves!

Actually, right before the bridge/plant, you can find 2 or 3 of them at dark chilling on the benches or behind them. You have to watch riding at night there because there are about 5 of them on bikes with trailers that have no lights. Though they freeze like deer do if you come through with a bright light.

That may be Ellis from Geneva Cycle. He looks homeless.

No bums yet on that stretch but Tuesday a critter tried to avoid me and scratch its way up the fence at the Geneva water treatment plant.  It thought better of it and ran under my pedals (too slick to steer quickly) and my back tire gave the black and white furry quadraped a good thump.  It was too short to be mistaken for Ellis.

I had a nice wipe out at Rock Cut the other day right by the lake just east of the usual Race start area. My front slid on a slick mud and trying to save it I did a crazy drift for about 30ft before i plucked down on my drive side and sled another 10ft
Upgraded my front tire right after that
