Rode this trail in Metamora, IL today. If Palos is the candy you like this is same brand with a little different flavor. Nice mileage with switchbacks, creek crossings, wooden bridges and some thigh-busting climbs. Might not have been quite as tough if I hadn't taken a pretty gnarly slip crash on the third wooden bridge I took. Very greasy and had a little drop at the end where you needed to turn. Bad technique there for sure. My leg throbbed the rest of the day. Some very pretty scenery though and two distinct looks when you ride the upper elevation versus the creek bottom trails. My wide bars didn't negotiate through all the tight tree passages either. However any day ridin' is great!

Down there the 25th mid morning only saw one other rider in 1.5 hr of riding.  Did a counter-clockwise ride to start 3-7-6-5.  Before 6 drops down into 5 had to stop for a 1-2 day dead doe a few feet off the trail.  Coyotes did a number on the hind quarters looked like an arrow mark (couldn't find arrow) in lower abdominal region.  Stay on the look out in the next couple of weeks especially as the temperature drops...Free Venison!
