Anyone up for a medium speed ride on the Fox today? I am taking the cross bike out for a few hours. Mountain bike would work fine too.

I will be leaving from Batavia/Geneva between 10 and noon and heading north for 20 miles or so. If someone is interested poast up what time works for you and we will leave then.

Yah, it was a good day for a ride. I rode the river north to Elgin then out the IPP to Wheaton and back to Geneva. It was nice.

I was out there too. Rode from aurora to Elgin and back on the paved trail. Next time I'll check the boards to see if anyone is heading out.

I like those trails too
I think it would be good
if they connected the Gilman on Hill Ave
By the skating rink, to the other side (by rush coply)

I accualy POSted to say
I like going down to The I&M cannal in Morris.

From Aurora I head out to OSwego
then HEad on to Minkler rd.
(thats how I learned Of Saw we kee)

Get on E. Schoolhouse rd (126) for a minute or two
then take Ashly Rd  all the way down
not many cars If any at all on Ashly road

(If you need better directions getting to minkler
if your not familar
just ask.

The I&M Canal Trail is great for longer rides. I usually will take a route From Eola Rd. and keep heading south. you have to make a few turns but eventually you catch up with it in Minooka. Plenty of Campsites for bike touring along the trail too. however it can be really buggy at certain times of the year.

I love the I&M trail. Would people do down for a Morris> Lasalle-Peru > Morris ride this winter?

I Couldn't make it,
but if you do go In Bufalo rock
you can get a water proof map
(up some huge hill right off the trail
you can see the hill right off the trail/street crossing).

At least thats what the Park district worker told me
If you would like to see
the camp sites,  parks, hospitals (uh oh) etc. in the area.

Are you going to look Matthiessen state park?
http://dnr.state.il.us/lands/landmgt/parks/r1/mttindex.htm

IF your going up that way I know of a MTB trail along the trail getting into Senica
right along the School right before crossing the road.

Im not sure of the condition, As I got a flat right there,
and discovered it trying to find a place to camp out with a Friend
at night, In the morning decided to fix my bike while waiting for breakfast.

(but I think the condition is bad worth a look though,
but couldn't ride it anyways because I had too much gear/weight.)

I've been Wondering about Matthiessen mtb trails for a while, haven't heard much about them (other then on here.)
