Latest SWK Trail Conditions

The home page's trail status is updated as info comes to us. If you've been out and know the conditions here or the home page's trail status are not current, post up with what you found. We'll take care of updating the home page.

Keep in mind that after any substantial rain the trails will need at least one warm sunny day to dry out. Give the trails time to dry before heading out, both for the sake of avoiding unnecessary damage and not creating lots of extra maintenance work for the volunteers who generously pitch in to give all of us a great ride.

Also, since the fast-growing honeysuckle and buckthorn obscures sight lines at corners, there is a greater risk of collisions. Call out your presence at blind turns or before dropping into a ravine. If you feel a maintenance job is getting overlooked, we would welcome your participation at a trail workday. More bodies makes shorter work of the to-do list.

Conditions guidelines:
Noting downed trees, ride-related damage, trail surface conditions or water/flooding - GOOD

Guessing on weather, trail surface condition, or what's out there - BAD

Discussing anything other that current conditions, including complaining about other trail users - also BAD. Start a new thread if you need to.

Keeping it short and to the point - ALWAYS GOOD!

Reports will be removed after 5 days.

Trails are in great shape.

There are two down trees.

1. Anaconda - at the end of the straightaway before making the right turn entering the whoops section when riding from the outside towards the interior of the park

2. Jackrabbit - at the top of the benchcut climb before making the hard right turn pointing you at the Fox River

Someone has been taking it upon themselves to do trailwork, and not the helpful kind. This can both damage our standing with the land managers, and lead to changes that may not be in the best interests of the park. If you're doing it, stop. If you see some neighbor kid doing it, tell them they're creating more problems than they're solving. If you have to, call the cops.

I did notice some changes lately. A big jump or two and a reroute. I try to kick down the jumps but they are back within a week.

Don't be a squid and modify trails to suit your whim so knock it off and learn how the land managers are working with CAMBr to develop SWK into a great riding destination.

If you want to work on trails, show up for a work day and become part of the solution not part of the problem.

If you are getting advice from me, I would strongly suggest you get a second opinion.

I second the downed tree on jackrabbit today.

I actually think I saw the guys doing trail work today. I didnt think anything of it till seeing the posts here today. They were in the concession stand/dominator area. To be honest all i noticed was that they smoothed out the big tabletop jump.  I havent seen any jumps anywhere else.

Im betting they arent aware of or regulars on this site.
