Do I need to do anything to my bike as I prepare for winter riding at Palos?

What are you doing to prepare your bike for palos?

Other then keep it clean and lubed after each ride. Depending on the amount of snowfall you could let some air out of your tires for better traction. That might depend on the amount of air volume you normally ride with and the capacity of your tire's tho.

Sometimes I ride with a lower seat height.   In the snow and ice it helps to have your feet a little closer to the ground.

I thought that I had read somewhere that Shimano uses mineral oil for their hydraulic brakes and that Shimano made no claim that mineral oil would work in their brakes below freezing.  However, I've used Shimano hydraulic brakes at least down to 25 deg F without difficulty.  If you have hydraulic brakes regardless of the type of fluid that it uses, you might benefit from a bleed if they're already starting to get marginal anyway.

Ride until you are high and then ride some more.
