I will be there to show my support. The thought of having this in my backyard is amazing! Let's make this happen!

Anyone willing to GoPro this for those who can't attend? Turns out I can make it. Anyone object to me recording it?

I live right next to Raceway and would love to take a section of the CAMBr trail to maintain.

Feedback on the meeting
Last nights public meeting on the proposed Raceway Woods natural surface trail as well attended. Just short of 100 people were present representing homeowners, conservationists, Forest Preserve District, local authorities, commissioners, riders, hikers, runners, birders, dog walkers and a few families. The proposal was well received by the majority of people. Primary concerns were irresponsible riders, speed, folk riding on private property, maintenance of the historic nature of the racetrack and impact to other users groups. CAMBr reassured those present that proper trail design, education and peer pressure would address the majority of those concerns. CAMBr is committed do developing a world class sustainable natural surface trail system for multiple users to enjoy.
CAMBr would like to thank everyone who participated in the meeting. Some folks drove up from the south to share their experiences from Palos, others shared their experiences riding in the “Wild West” (current conditions) while others shared their support of a formal trail system. There were many people came into the meeting on the fence and left satisfied that the trail would have a positive impact to the area.
The Kane County Forest Preserve District will review the comment sheets that were submitted in writing to see if there were any additional concerns that were not raised, work with CAMBr on finalizing the license agreement, get approval from the Utilization Committee and then Executive approval. CAMBr has already started the project plan for execution of the trail development so that once approved we will be ready to execute which we are hoping will be late winter or early spring. We will keep you posted in the forum and Facebook pages.
Attached is a PDF file of the presentation.
Regards Mike

Thanks Mike for all the work, not only do our northern brothers deserve a trail system close to home, but it will also take some needed pressure off of Palos.

Great presentation, I learned a lot about the benefits of a well planned trail system that go beyond MTB riders. You came across very prepared for the presentation and the objections. Was great to hear one resident say she came in opposed to the plan and left in favor.

+1 and great job to all locals who attended. It was clear that local riders were (a) visibly present at the meeting (b) equally sincere and respectful as the local homeowners / concerned individuals (c) lusting for a better, safer, sustainable world-class location to ride and maintain.
The 2-3 hours you gave up Thursday nite may very well pay off in thousands of ride hours on sustainable trails for everyone.
Great way to start off 2012 for CAMBr !!!!

The Utilization Committee approved Raceway Woods trail development pending approval of the licensing agreement between Kane County, Dundee Township and CAMBr.
The License agreement will be reviewed by the CAMBr's legal team, CAMBr’s insurance and feedback given to Kane County. Once everyone is good with the wording of the agreement it will be approved on 16 February 2011 by Kane County Forest Preserve District.
Pending no major issues with the License agreement we should be good to go.
Regards Mike
