my season consisted of pulling dragging prophet 115s through soft bumps and slush. Probably should have brought my old Volkl Vertigos with me but I was praying for pow. no way would i go back to my old ski's! my fatty's have proven to be killer in almost all conditions, especially at carving trenches through crap and surfing through slush. are the profits fully rockered or something? though i'm pretty sure this has a lot to do with the magic pixi dust mixed into the base sheets of all icelantic skis  |

The prophets have a slight rockered tip that Line calls "early rise" but the are cambered too and they have a pretty big sidecut (153/115/142) so they are great for carving. Only drawback is they are pretty heavy. Although they'll deflect any crud or loose snow pretty well so it's not really a drawback. I'm sure even if I brought my older set of Volkls I'd still be rocking the prophets.
I was looking at those icelantics. Sounds like they ski as good as they look. I almost bought a used pair in Salida. But what does a midwest skier need two sets of fat skis for. I tried to convince my dad to buy them for himself but no dice.

Trying to bring this thread back to life for the 2012-2013 season or lack there of. Has anybody been out this year? I'm thinking of skipping work and heading up to cascade or granite peak for a day. Wondering if it's worth it. I know Wisconsin's had some snow but I haven't been keeping track.

So far I have one day at Eldora, Winter Park, Breckenridge, and Keystone. It's been a pretty bad start to the winter.

My season started in October this year with skiing A-Basin. Made 3 trips to Colorado so far with 20 days total in Breck, Keystone and Copper. Hope they will get more snow for my next trip in Feb.

I have one each at Chestnut, DH, Eldora and Keystone. Not an abundance of snow in CO, but enough.
Mt Bohemia is opening Friday, I'll have to pay them a visit soon.

I'd be interested in doing a Bohemia trip if they have fresh snow in the forecast. I was in Vail last week, and missed the storm that just came through and dropped two feet by two days. I need to ride fresh snow.... |
