All flyers were distributed to the residents surrounding Andres Park as requested by the Village. Thanks to everyone that helped. Nearly everyone that we spoke to was positive about the trails and bike skills area. I will be presenting to the Board of trustees on the 19th June to which the public is invited.

We will keep watching the pulse of activity preceding the meeting to ensure that we have all the bases covered. I am not sure whether they will make the decision during the meeting. The contract is currently being finalized and things are running along at a fairly fast pace. Once we have been given the green light we are considering using IMBA Trail solutions to design and potentially build the trails which will be funded by various fund raising activities.

We will keep you posted.

The Village of Carpentersville Board of Trustees will be voting on the Andres Park Natural Surface Trail Proposal on Tuesday June 19th at 7.00pm.

CAMBr will present the trail proposal to the Trustees and answer any questions that the Trustees or the public have on the trail before they vote. Please show your support at the meeting.

See attached flyer that was distributed to the residents in the area.

Thanks
Mike

Thanks to the few folks that came out to help Carpentersville Village clean up one of the entrance points to Andres Park. If you go by the Boys and Girls Club in Carpentersville have a look and see the difference once all the invasive plants and trees have been removed.

This evening CAMBr presented the Andres Park Trail & Bike Park proposal to the Board of Trustees in the Village of Carpentersville.

Mike Angus CAMBr North’s president took the trustees and the public through the proposal that addressed what natural surface trails are, what a bike skills area entails, what CAMBr is and the values that it stands for and then onto the specifics of the Andres Park Proposal and the impact to the area and residents.

There was organized resistance to the proposal. Many that were opposed to the proposal carried signs saying “No CAMBr” and pamphlets were distributed to the attendees of the meeting stating their case against the proposal. Many of the concerns that people raised were answered during the presentation. After the presentation the public were invited to present their case for and against the proposal. I would like to thank those that were present as well as those who spoke in favor of the proposal. I believe that the presentation addressed many of the concerns of the residents and informed the public of the value that CAMBr can add as an organization to their park.

I would venture to say that the majority of people in the room were in favor of moving forward and those that were against were swayed enough to give it a try. The legal teams have been working around the clock to ensure that the agreement was legally sound. I would like to call out the effort and time spent free of charge to CAMBr from Nancy FallonHoule who represented us from a legal perspective. Nancy’s work has saved CAMBr thousands of dollars. The Board of Trustees will vote on the proposal on 10 July 2012.

Regards
Mike
