Hello my fellow CAMBr forumites!  It is once again closing in on that time of year where we need your help to run the Meltdown.  Please contact me via PM to tell me if you can come out and help on the 5th.  We had a great turnout last year which lead to a great race considering the weather we had so let's see if we can do even better then last year!

As a change this year I am going to be looking for people to help coordinate things on the day of the race to try and make things go more smoothly.  So let me know if you are interested in being in charge of any specific jobs during the race.  Sorry Marcin, official beer taster job has already been spoken for!  Maybe you can do pizza taster?

I also wanted to remind people that the race is a short three months away.  Some things to remember about how volunteering helps CAMBr South build and maintain the trails we all love to ride at Palos.  How you may ask?  Well let me tell you.  The Meltdown is the biggest source of fund raising which allows the purchase of tools and other things that are needed to build and maintain the above trails.  So please help us to keep adding new trail and keep the ones we have in top shape so that everyone can enjoy them!  Look forward to hearing from everyone who wants to help.  If anyone is interested in owning the parking lot this year let me know.

Scott,

I'll be there, this will be my sixth race and I think this is going to be a big one.  Last year I helped assign the race marshals for the in termedant race and then I checked on a few we could not get a hold of on the radios.  I'm also a big fan of sweeping the race if we are going to have sweepers.

Thanks Rich.  Good to have you on board.

We still need volunteers so do not be shy people.  Just to give people an idea we need at least 45 volunteers and I have around a dozen so far.

Thank you all who have volunteered that I have not gotten back to.  We will get you onto a ravine Marty!

Looking forward to seeing you all out there in three weeks.  I will get the list up by Saturday night so if I have missed anyone or your plans have changed please let me know.  It's crunch time and the boss, I mean Ben is cracking the whip.  For good reason.

As promised here is the list of people who have said they can help this year at the race.  If for some reason you will not be available please let me know.

I have some bad news for everyone who was looking forward to parking lot duty.  Burak told me yesterday that the CCFPDPD is going to have an office handling that for us this year.  I know that anyone who has done parking lot duty is just crushed at this point!

I also plan on getting a preliminary list of what everyone is going to be doing up later today after I take care of a few other things.
