I live in the skokie area. 3 miles from old orchard mall. I am new to mtb freeriding. Can anyone tell me if any good stuff exists here. No car to drive further out just my klein palomino v. Thanks ahead of time.

If you think GOD does not exist, try and remember the last near death experience on a trail. Was it you that saved yourself or a higher power? Think about it.

I've only heard of trails along the north branch trail. I'd ride west along old orchard then hook up with the trail and look for offload stuff along there. Post up what you find

There are trails just off the north branch trail by Skokie lagoons. Head north towards the gardens and the entrance is on the left.

I've lived in Skokie for the last 26 years, recently moved to Glenview. The only trail systems we have are paved, and run north south from Edgebrook to botanical gardens, and the path that runs parallel to Mccormick.

You didn't look hard enough then. They're just south of Dundee on the north ranch trail in the center island of the lagoons

Yep those are still there and less flooded than last year. But that's Glencoe...pretty fair ride from Skokie on a MTB. Here's a map of a HIKE, READ: A HIKE (in case 'biking' there is a problem along the trails there) that I took with my GPS. There is some random crap in Harms Woods off the north brach gravel thing but nothing worth it. Also there is a little dirt path along the river on the other side of McCormick but nothing there is continuous or long. People just walk dogs and you'll find homeless people there at night along the river.

There is a more enjoyable hiking trail north of that one that runs parallel to the bike trail if you are looking for a fun hike. The island is a breeding ground for mosquitos due to all the standing water.

That's true, why I never go on the island there during the summer Also THE Bone (aka the jumps and stuff that used to be there when the kids around here were still here) are on the north peninsula over there. There's some drier trails but not long, just the fun hill. That place was the sh!t like five years ago
