I'm pretty sure Performance could afford to pay someone more than a small single store bike shop.  Just saying.....
wait, the next thing youll tell me is that Forte and Scattante arent good components. Who cares, im gonna take my bike to Ryan the VW tech for service from now on.

I don't know their pay system, but if there was a good mechanic they COULD afford to pay them more. That's all I'm saying.  The implication that a good mechanic wouldn't work at Performance is kinda silly.  Many people work because they make money and go where they're paid the most.

Performance is a corporation. Pay is based on how long you've worked there.

Performance hired Gary Fisher??

This exchange made the last 12 posts worth reading, and that is saying a lot.

Wayne Mikes might like to hear about your troubles. It's one thing to not do fittings, it's another to be inconsistent in your service. You might have to call or go in to see him as i don't think they have a website or email.

I had the crappy setup and piss poor service on a $2,000 bike problem at Village Cyclesport in Elk Grove. Loose stem, flat shocks, no shock pump, low tires, misrouted cable, misaligned front derailuer. Then a surly tech tells me i voided the warranty by fixing their foul ups. Good thing i can do most of my own work.

Maybe it's a cost thing, under a thousand or over four thousand and you get good service?
