I'm pretty much on the threshold of 40.  I'm also a reformed golfer - I was on the golf team in high school.  I wasn't good at golf then like I'm not that good at mountain biking today.

Still in my mid-40's!! Lol
I only ride once or twice a week now, but I still like to ride with the fast guys. I wouldnt want to limit myself to an "age-specific" ride. Just getting out riding at all, is a win for me.

Just turned 50 and at Palos 5x a week....noticed the hills are easier to climb than at 40.....probably cuz of the 40 lbs less I carry around my gut.....the only difference now is I never time myself-don't care how fast I am or anyone else....I just want to be healthy enough to able to ride again tomorrow.....age is just a # of how many times the Earth has revolved around the Sun since you were born....I have so much respect for riders older than me.....someday I'll have to make the switch to a Mountain Trike!!!

<--43. The DH'er in me loathes climbing. I'll ride with you if you let me go first on the downs. I'll let you go first on the uphills.

I'm with you on this one! I freaking hate climbing. Definitely my weakest skill.  I'm 44 and female. Just took up MTBing last year and LOVE it! I'm in better shape and have met some wonderful people in this sport.

I'd probably be one of the slower riders but could ride sweep.
