I was there 2 weeks ago, I meet up with my brother there once a year, always a fun ride. Trails were mostly in great shape, (although horse traffic was evident) and there's some hikers mostly going down to the Vermilion, and no bike traffic although it was a weekday. Some mud in low spots, otherwise tacky at most. That big downhill/climb is awesome. I love the openness and the "levels" that wind down towards the river in that section. Technical, fast and lots of surprises.

Mathiessen was awesome 2 weeks ago during the race. I really stated liking this course. It's perfect for a training of casual few laps.
The race loop was about 4 miles and that's awesome because the trails are really cool so that you want to do them few times the same day while being able to manage how exhausted you want to get by managing the number of laps you do.
