Official Meltdown RAFFLE Rules for the 2018 Chicago Area Mountain Bikers

Prize
Specialized S-Works of the winner’s choice.  Model, size and color must be available at time of choosing, which must be within 2 weeks of winning notification. This raffle prize has been donated to CAMBr by Specialized. Specialized is not responsible for the raffle or the results.  Any prize details not specified above will be determined by the CAMBr in its sole discretion.  Prize is not transferable and must be accepted as awarded.  No cash or other substitution may be made, except by CAMBr, who reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the prize is not available for any reason as determined by CAMBr in its sole discretion.  The winner is responsible for taxes and any and all other costs and expenses not listed above

Who is eligible?
This Raffle is open only to legal US residents who are 18 or older as of June 9, 2018.

Who is sponsoring the Raffle?
The Raffle is sponsored by Chicago Area Mountain Bikers - CAMBr (the “Sponsor”).

How do I enter?
The Raffle runs from 12:00 am (CT) on June 10th to 11:59 p.m. (CT) on August 31st, 2018 (the “Entry Period”).  During the Entry Period there is one way to enter; tickets may be purchased through CAMBr.org and will be entered into a pool for the prize drawing at the end of the Entry Period.

How will winners be selected?
On or about September 1st, 2018, a representative from CAMBr will select a potential winner in a random drawing of all entries received.  The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.  The potential winner will be notified within 10 days of the drawing.

What may a potential winner be required to do?
Except where prohibited, within five (5) days of being notified a potential winner may be required to provide certain identifying information for CAMBr to file with the IRS.  If a potential winner declines to accept the prize, has violated any of these Official Rules, or fails to sign and return the required documents within the required time period, then an alternate entrant will be selected in his/her place in a random drawing of remaining entries. All applicable local, state or Federal taxes will be the responsibility of the winner.

What other terms should I be aware of?
By participating in the Raffle, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the determinations of Sponsor, which shall be final. Unless prohibited by law, entrants agree to allow use of their name, voice, city/state of residence, photograph, and/or likeness for advertising and/or trade and/or any other purpose in any media or format now or hereafter known without further compensation, permission or notification.
The Raffle is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.  In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Raffle is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Raffle to address the impairment and then resume the Raffle in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Raffle or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Raffle may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.  Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.  Sponsor reserves the right to modify or cancel this promotion at any time and, in the event of cancellation, substitute another in its place.

By participating in the Raffle, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its parent and related companies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Raffle or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Raffle; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Raffle or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Raffle or receipt or use of any prize.  Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Raffle, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney’s fees.  Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.

How will disputes be handled?
Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Raffle or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the State of Illinois.  All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Raffle, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Illinois, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Illinois or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Illinois.

How can I find out who won?
To obtain the name of the winners check the CAMBr website (www.cambr.org), or send a self-addressed stamped envelope with written request to:  Chicago Area Mountain Bikers, 336 Patricia Lane, Bartlett, IL 60103.  Requests must be received within four (4) weeks of the conclusion of the Entry Period.

Someone from CAMBR should try to advertise the raffle through Pinkbike.com it’s a good outlet to raise extra funds for CAMBR, extra advertising for specialized and include an article to expose trail system here in Chicagoland to the rest of the USA. Include the new campground at Palos let people know they can camp, stay and play.
Just a thought.
Thanks
Bert

Thanks Bert, that's a good suggestion. I'll look into it.
