And what happens when you miss a turn @ 50...my buddy's Arctic Cat F6 after an abrupt meeting with a tree last Friday night. He was OK.

I did not get up there last year but have been up there every year besides that for the last 5-6 years. I cannot wait they have A LOT OF SNOW. Heading to SW michigan on sunday to get a short day of riding in.

Pics were from Munising in da UP. We went from Christmas - New Year, rode the Harbor Springs area in northwest lower MI, then up to Munising. It's so beautiful up there...makes me wanna go back in the summer and go biking! I rode out of Twin Lakes and Watersmeet last year...the run up to Copper Harbor is absolutely AWESOME. Only thing I missed was going to the Gay Bar (in Gay, MI, outside Houghton)...might try to go again this year. I'm heading for Lake Gogebic tomorrow...that'll make like 5 weekends in a row of sleddin' for me!

Mike I am jealous, I have only been out for 1 short day this year just up by my uncles for a day run of about 150 miles. Looking to put on some good mile in Feb a few weekend trips to Mi & WI. If you are in Gogebic have a drink for me at the hoop it is always a must stop when I am in that area. Have a fun and safe trip up there. I here the trails are great right now and a lot of snow to go boondokin. Hit the power lines between gogebic and twin lakes if you head north out of Lake gogebic.

I've never been boondockin, but the dude we're going up with LOVES it. He really wants to hit some off trail...I said fine, as long as he's gonna be the one that digs out my wife's heavy a$$ Yami 4-stroke! Went to the Hoop last year...I'm sure we'll go back, we're staying at Gogebic Lodge.
What kind of sled do you have? I'll probably be running up to WI and MI as much as possible while the snow is still here...let me know if you wanna hook up sometime. Might head up to my parents summer place in Coloma, MI next weekend for a fun couple days of riding closer to home.

If you want to try to hook up and ride next sat or sunday let me know I will talk to my wife; we were planning on going somewhere next weekend riding. I have stayed at several places all over the up about 3 years ago my brother his freind & myself backpacked(from hotel to hotel) the up for about 6 days and did around 1200-1300 miles we started in Iron Mountain went over to Munsing and then up to Copper harbor(if you have not been there before I suggest going the view from brockway mountain is beautiful) and the rest of the time on the western part of the up. Between my brother and myself we have several sleds at 98 artic cat jag 440(the one we usually let 1st timers ride) it was a donation for a favor we did for a guy, a 95 artic cat ext 580, a 2000 AC ZL 600, and a 2005 AC Sabercat 700. And my god son(3) has a z120. We shouild try to hook and ride some time. We will be up in the UP staying in the twin lakes area (feb 20-22) right down the street from Krups and also close to the parkview inn if you have ever heard of that place real nice hotel and great restarant/bar and it is new. If you do get a chance to go boon dockin remember full throttle and do not let off in the deep POW POW. If you have never been Boon dokin go off trail even if it is just on the fire roads it is a blast to blaze your path in what we call untracked snow. Let me know if you are still going to ride next weekend. Have fun in the up. Ride hard & Safe

Yup. Petosky is just to the south. We stayed in Pellston, because we were going to take one of the days to do some boarding at Nub's or Boyne Highlands, but just ended up sledding instead (saving our boarding and skiing for Breck in a couple weeks).
