Here are the forms needed for anyone looking to apply as a freestyle biking instructor. There are 5 forms to fill out total. 

1. Application for employment
2. Background Check
3. I-9 form
4. Volunteer application
5. W-4 form


All five forms can be found here

You will need to fill out these forms and fax them to the attention of Megan Earnest at the PTPD fax number 815-436-8935.  She will also need a copy of two forms of ID.


So far these are the people I have down as instructors - Please post up which class you are interested in leading, we will need two instructors per class. 

Class #1 - Tuesday nights (children) 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Class #2 - Saturday mornings (children) 10:00 am - Noon
Class #3 - Thursday nights (adults) 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Course description and dates:

We will be teaching Freestyle Biking Lessons at the Plainfield Bike Park this summer.  If you would be interested in teaching a class or assisting now is you chance.
The positions will be working for the Plainfield Township Park District. The PTPD will require a background check and you will need to fill out an application. The job pays $12 an hour.  Other instuctors are planning on donating their salaries to CAMBr West, you wouldn't have to.

Here is a class description and the dates:

Class Title: Freestyle bike riding for beginners.

Description: Learn bicycle handling skills to ride safer, go faster, jump higher, and clear obstacles with ease. Bike park safety and etiquette. Bicycle inspection and repair basics. Learn riding techniques like: pumping rollers for speed, railing berms, navigating drops, and beginner dirt jumping.


Requirements:
Waiver.
Bicycle designed for dirt jumping.
Helmet.
Gloves.
Pants and long sleeve shirt or knee and elbow  pads.
Contact info for weather cancellations.

Class #1 - Beginners 17 and under
June 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd  6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Class #2 - Beginners 17 and under
June 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Class #3 - Beginners 18 and over (Moms and Dads welcome!)
June 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

i should have all forms filled out and faxed by friday

as for witch class #3 thursday is my top choice but i'd also be happy with #1 tuesday
depending on who can only do certain days...

Get those forms filled out if you are interested in doing this.  Please post up when you are done, so I can verify the PTPD got all your info and you are cleared for employment.

Is there any interest in having more classes in the fall?   After September?  Maybe just one class?

I wouldn't mind but I would like to see what kind of response we get first before we commit to another one.  What we should do is have a 102 class.  First lesson riding isn't free and hand out shovels.

I just checked the PPD website, and after only 1 week of registration being open, the Tuesday night class is already full!
