What's the normal front chain ring for a 1x9 setup?

Thanks.
I've got a 34 up front right now so I'll stick with that for the conversion.

Just upgraded from a 32t 11-32, to a 36t with 11-34.  Haven' had a chance to get her out yet though.

34toof.  i'd say 32toof, but they tend not to work very well with most chainguides, such as the lg1.

anyone else running 2 x 9?
I'd like a bash guard and would sacrifice the big ring, I was thinking of upsizing both the granny ring and middle ring.
maybe 26 and 36.

I'm running 2x9 with 32&22 in front, 11-34 in the back.

I bought a new crankset and was happy to see the rings were supposed to be 34&24 which is exactly what I wanted.  The package finally shows up from the UK and its a 32&22.  Oh well, once these wear out then I'll go 34&24.

36x24 in the front 11-26 in the back.

I have trouble spinning that up long steep inclines but my bike is heavy and I can push faster than the granny gear spins anyway.

2X9 with a bash over here.
24-36
11-34

I am using this set up out here in Colorado. Works pretty well over here on the steep climbs and still has enough to pedal down some hills and in the streets. I would like to try a 22-34 up front one day though.

I run 26-36 and 11-34. Fine for the midwest but when I travel I will put the triples on.
