Don't give up just yet.  The idea sounds good but maybe not enough people are back in the riding mode yet since the weather has been so bad this spring.  Its still April. I'm willing to stick it out a little longer.  The more places to ride the better.  Maybe some bike shops would be a place to look for interested people.  The Bicycles ETC... in Lilse has always been friendly and usually have groups that ride together, and maybe the DG Trek store on Ogden.  They do trek demo days and that might be a good way to get people out to the trails.

Hidden lake is what i've had in the back of my mind as the place to start.

CAMBr South has met with a crew that is is looking for help in legalizing a trail system in the Hidden Lake Preserve. but before we get moving on that project, we have to get the majority of DuPage Commissioners to better understand the value of sustainable single track and change the current ruling for only 8 ft wide trails.  This a major project that CAMBr is working on right now, but as with anything else it's going to take some time, as we are dealing with the interpretation of state laws as well.

As things progress we will be reaching out the membership for lobbying and hands on support.

I think that Hidden Lake has excellent potential for a great multi-user trail system.
