I might try saturday night with road tires, is that cheating?   I've been wanting to do a fitness comparison with last year.

here is tonights group ride:

Not cheating but if you put on road tires, then there is no reason you shouldn't be getting sub-8's.  What happened last night...barely saw you??

The thursday ride is (or has become?) a mix of members from cambr, NWMTB, and a meetup group.  The meetup group often has newer riders and someone usually runs sweep.  I've done it for part of the last few rides I've attended and stayed back after the first lap this time.  Joe also had a crash and issues with his front shifter or derailleur, which we looked at in the parking lot before starting the 2nd lap.  I turned back a little early to get out of the woods before it got too dark... need some lights.

Tried downhill bike for the first time today ( Keystone, CO). What can I say - wow! I did turns and jumps I never do on my bike ( 29er HT) back home. Flying back tomorrow - may be a ride on Sunday?...

About 15 miles at Patapsco Valley State Park in MD......until I got a flat.  Darn TSA confiscated my CO2!  I suppose it would have been wise to stop at a bike shop and get, but I was too excited.

GREAT trails!  Thinking about shipping my bike whenever I have to come out here for work

I rode Shoe Factory Sunday morning. I put in 15 miles in there plus another 6 or so going to and from my house.
I took some new trails I didn't ride yet ad found a cool little down hill. Also did a nice climb up the hill the runs along Shoe Factory. Once you get to the top, there are a few trails that lead to nowhere and two that run you back down to the trails.

Shoe Factory - 12 and change this eve...I tried to ride every single length of mapped/legal trails and I think I got pretty close.  There is a 400 meter length of the brown trail that I did not do that runs parallel to 59 and I did not venture on the singletrack towards the train tracks.  Link below shows my route...the only screwup was next to mile 3 when I went up an abandoned driveway at the corner of the parking lot off of Schaumburg Rd(there is nothing there).

P.S. Sorry to the Cyclo-cross guy who I got in the way of...not used to people on the path and had no clue you were behind me.

Road tires... pinch flatted the rear early on   But traffic was clear and the wind was good   Finally a sub 8.  Then I blew up with the heat.

Finally made it to Kettle today - first time this season. Trails are in great shape. Did relatively fast ( for me) blue loop and called it a day....

Hey hey! I was up at Kettle with my girlfriend camping!  Rode Sat, Sun, and this morning.  Hit up all of the trails at John Muir and the green and brown at Emma Carlin.  45 miles total for the weekend and I feel like I got hit by a truck.

Sounds like a fun weekend.

Getting hit by that kinda truck is fun.
