Pic one is the spot I had to walk.
Pic two is the tree (behind the guy in the white shirt) I was hanging off of because I caught a rock just before it and it stopped me in my tracks.

Now I have to go back and ride it.

I camped at Racoon Ridge but I don't think it really matters.

Just got back from my weekend at Brown County... WOW!!  This place was on another level compared to what I've ridden around chicagoland.  The trails were in great shape- it seemed like every time i needed something to push off of, I had it.  Every turn was banked, and every jump smooth...  this place was super fast!!  Kudos to those who build/maintain the trails
We started with a big day Friday: Parked at the north lot, rode the pine loop, then north tower to the complete aynes loop, to the hesitation connector, through walnut- and then back again ( completing the aynes loop a second time ).  Close to 25 miles justified the beer and food we enjoyed in excess while back at camp.  Then Saturday, we parked up at hesitation and rode walnut down to Schooner.  With this being my first time- I was a Little nervous to ride Schooner ( especially after the difficult entrance section ), but I'm glad I did!  This trail is SICK!!!   I made it through about 85% of the trail... but what a test.  I did at one point get tossed off the bike as I was trying to make it up onto a rock.  Fell off to my left, down a pretty steep ravine, got tossed from my bike, and as I was tumbling, was able to grab a hold of a root, or something.  Then as I was stopping myself, saw my bike catapulting past me- but I was able to grab hold of my forks for the save.  Only to look up to see a local  (Paul??) laughing at me- once he saw I was OK of course.  But I thought Schooner was a great run, and well worth the ass kicking.
We camped out at Racoon Ridge- non electric.  The sites were fairly small, and the campground was very quiet- a family setting.  But overall nice facilities, and a great view of the stars at night.  If there are any campsites open in the back loop of the campground, (127, 128, 129...) get those, as they are bigger.
Thanks to those who recommended I try BCSP... This place is a class above the rest, and it wont be too long before I get back down.  Hopefully for the fall color change.  Ill post more pics in the gallery, but here's a few highlights.
-HoM, we even got to see one of your buddies slithering through our campsite Fri night. but we threw him in the fire... JK.  Pics up in the gallery, maybe you can tell me which kind of snake-

We might need to put a rope along the trail to pull people back out of the ravine.

I almost warned you not to fall to your left, but was afraid that would make you look left and see how steep the drop off was.

You looked like one of the TDF guys, trying to climb back onto the road after a mountain crash.

Glad you survived the crash and had a good weekend.

HMBA has rally site #4 reserved this weekend for a camp'n work'n ride weekend.  If anyone comes down from Chicago Land, you are welcome to camp with us.

It took us 4 and a half hours from roselle.  Its an easy drive once your through chicago though, I65 fly.  No piggies gunnin, not a lot of work zone traffic, and a 70 mph all the way.
We rode our hard tails for 5 hours one day and felt great! You gotta get out!
