I rode KK early Saturday morning and saw something I've never seen before! Sled Dog training! Really! They had about eight dogs harnessed up and pulling a wheeled cart, rather than a sled, with a guy standing on the back 'mushing' them!

They started from the upper open field across the bridge to the widetrack leading up into the woods. I tucked in behind them on the flat trail along the river and they were cooking along at 19 miles an hour! They lost me going up the hill as I couldn't keep up the pace... they have more legs than me! (I think I could have taken them on the inside singletrack though!!)

It was definitely a sight to see!!

As soon as it cools down, they are out there quite frequently.   They are fun to watch bouncing around in the lot waiting to take off.

Alex and I saw those guys last winter.  They were much better prepared for the snow than we were.

No, I certainly would have noticed a giant poodle sled dog!! But it was kinda funny that several of them seemed like normal house dogs. Some were like Huskies or Malamutes, but other just looked like usual dogs. They all seemed to be having fun with it, though.

My guys like bikejoring at KK.
We stick to the wide track, but it is tons of fun.
Need to find a better way to connect to the bike as I have gotten leash caught in the front tire, but am damn sure that won't happen again.
Not recommended for every1, as it took some work to get the dogs to cooperate and stay out of the way of other trail users (but we started on longboard & cross country skiing so they got it down pretty good now)
Good times

bikejoring huh?  I learned a new word today

I run my boston terrier while riding my bike and he pulls so hard that he would make a great sled dog.  He runs along side me and I keep the leash in my hand, usually I am pedaling at the same pace, but there are times when I just sit back and let him pull me.
