A true ghetto setup uses a bmx tube that has been sliced open and trimmed as the rimstip instead of those fancy Stans or other brand tubeless rim strips.

OK, that's just silly.

Any tire works with Stan's setup, so run whatever you want. the Tubeless tire ready only comment confused me.

it's not really that silly, it's much much cheaper than the stans kit and works pretty much just as well.

Kenda does not endorse the use of any fluid-based sealant products in any Kenda tube-type or tubeless-type tires. Use of any fluid-based products will void any warranty claims.

What happens is sometimes the stans will create a blister between plies and you'll have a large hump in your tire.  You can use a syringe to remove it from the inside but now you have separation of plies.  Most cases of this happening is when a tire sits with stans in it for a long time.

Going to post this here because i was at SWK today and had some problems but will also post in the tech section.

Ran did not have much impact today ground was just slick.  Some spots held small amouts of water but we just walked around those.

I currently have the Bonty XDX on paragon 2.1.  They are awesome tires but when the ground is wet forget about.  Today i took some spills and am quite beat up because of lose of traction in some climbs.  My shin looks like i have a second knee growing on it.

Anyways i need a ALL around trail tire.  Like a all mountain tire in the sense it can handle it all in most situations.  I am not looking for some fast rolling tire or a light tire but i dont need to be riding on two bricks either.

My LBS recommended that the best available would be the Bonty ACX at 2.2.  Looks agressive but want to know what other option are out there.  Once again looking for a tubeless ready tire dont want to run ghetto tubeless setups.

Jason

I had the Bonti Jones 29er ACX on both front and back of my 2008 Paragon.  Although I rarely if ever had an issue with traction.   I rode those tires until the knobs were done for.   I will tell you this if you run them front and back you will fill slow.   I would run the acx in the front and something less agressive in back.

I know have a Kenda Nevegal DTC 2.2 in front and Kenda SB8 in the back.  They are mounted to the Bonti Rythem Comp wheel with rim strips from bonti.  I will honestly say that the bike feels much faster and corners feel much more stable. The bike feels more responsive and you can really rail the corners. I notice the SB8 in the rear feels like to wants to slid but never does.   The nevegal/sb8 are nice tires and last longer than the ACX.     Note if you plan on mounting these tires tubeless use a little more stans fluid than normal.   You will need an air compressor for sure to get these tire to bead.   However they are holding air much better than the Tubless Ready Jones tires.    If I had to choose I would go with the Nevegal in front and SB8 in back.  This combo will be good for 90% of what the trails in the midwest.   Note the SB8 does not do good in muddy conditions.

What do you guys think of this setup

and this on the rear
http://www.bontrager.com/model/02495

I could run the first two also on the back but unsure how the thread pattern will work on both and the second tire might not clear my front deraileur.

i've had dang good luck with this, been running them all last summer, starting to wear them out and might just buy another pair.
