Join us for some much-needed trail work at a gem of a local trail! The to-do list will be announced just ahead of the day, once we get final park district approval for the work and date. Check back for more info. If you enjoy the trails here, put in some time to give back and help make the place even better. We really need the extra hands. See all the West workdays here, split by destination.

Meet up will be at 9am, location tbd. We'll go over the day's work and head into the trail by 9:15.

We're gonna do some more work to the start of Vertical Velocity—raising up a section that has notoriously flooded in past years. Bring a 5-gal bucket if you have one. We'll try to put a good stone base down and cover it with dirt. I'll have a wheel barrow, but if anyone wants to bring another all the better! Meet at the 2nd lot at 9am. I'll do better at getting there on time.

If you're late, find us at the southwest end of VV by that first drop.

I'm planning on being there.  I know SWK dries up quickly, think it'll be rideable by Sunday?

I think it'll be ridable by the workday on Saturday!

P.S. Skilling thinks we might get the S word tomorrow morning!! And I don't mean Storms, Showers, Sprinkles or Sunshine.

I hate having to work weekends.  Is it weird to want to change careers just to accommodate my mountain biking?

It would be weird not too.

Need us to get you fired? You can have your choice: mutually agreed parting of the ways, or having all your coworkers jumping out of the windows in horror to escape the evil oozing out of your body. You pick and we'll set it up... but i gotta say, people will ultimately respect you more if you go with option 2.

Oh yeah. If we get a good turnout we'll also take a look at some of the armoring jobs on the west end (southwest really) of Wildcat and tweak what needs tweaking.

I wish I could ride tomorow.

The crew of 11 did some outstanding work today!!

We raised up that section near the start of VV so that it will hopefully survive a spring flooding without keeping us from riding. And we built up a low spot on Wildcat to do the same thing. The place has really come a long way, sustainability-wise, in the past few years. The fact that it can be ridden when other trails are too muddy is a testament to all the volunteers who have pitched in to get it there.

Thanks for making SWK a great place to ride!!

Thanks for the tour guys!  Sorry I couldn't make it in time for the work itself...kind of embarrased by that!  I really had fun out there...definately gonna do it again.

Thanks for all your hard work that so many of us get to enjoy! I wish I could've made it out to help last weekend, but will try for next time. Thanks again!
