Join us for some much-needed trail work at a gem of a local trail! The to-do list will be announced just ahead of the day, once we get final park district approval for the work and date. Check back for more info. If you enjoy the trails here, put in some time to give back and help make the place even better. We really need the extra hands. See all the West workdays here, split by destination.

Meet up will be at 9am, location tbd. We'll go over the day's work and head into the trail by 9:15.

The plan is to address a few more water-retaining spots: one about midway down Wildcat and one near the start of Vertical Velocity (between the spots we worked on before!). Then get to trimming. Join us at the 2nd lot at 9am. If the weather cooperates we'll get lunch and a ride in afterwards.

I'll post up something tomorrow morning if the workday's in doubt. Right now it seems to be a big guess on when any rain will show. If there looks to be heavy rain coming, and staying, we'll pull the plug unless we can get a good chunk of work done before the rains show. We should be able to wait out a passing shower and get back to the jobs we need to do. Bring a raincoat just in case.

I'm at the trails right now and they are too wet to ride but perfect for working. Bring bug spray.

See you there.

So far it looks like the rains will go south of us. Whew!

Hey Jerry, stick you head in that puddle over there. Tell me if you can hear the mosquito larvae swimming around you.

Thanks!

Thanks for coming! The turnout was low this time but we did manage to get that wet spot between our two past V V projects built up. We got a light rain, but none of us needed a coat to fend it off. Hopefully next time it'll be drier and the bug count will go down.
