We Need You Making the ride happen takes more than bike gear. It takes building strong land manager relationships that can weather favorable and unfavorable decisions. It also takes having volunteers to handle the diverse jobs needed to keep this org going. Our strength is our membership and we hope you'll make us stronger—even if it's just by becoming a member. Join us for some much-needed trail work at a gem of a local trail! The to-do list will be announced just ahead of the day, once we get final park district approval for the work and date. Check back for more info. If you enjoy the trails here, put in some time to give back and help make the place even better. We really need the extra hands. See all the West workdays here, split by destination.

Meet up will be at 9am, location tbd. We'll go over the day's work and head into the trail by 9:15. Poison ivy is still a problem out there, but if you know what you're doing it's not a big deal to manage it.

I wish it was a wedding, there might be an open bar.  I'll be celebrating that I'm still married, quite an accomplishment given the characters I associate with

Glad I didn't have to say it.

We'll be taking a run along Anaconda to keep the growth in check. 9am, first lot. I hope extra bodies show up to take Sean and Jerry's place.

We have a bag of loppers and a small collection of weed cutters, so we ought to have enough to keep a dozen or so people armed. This time of year we don't get that many showing up.

It's good for volunteers to wear hard-soled shoes, long pants, hat, eye protection, and work gloves. And there's various waiver forms to sign to keep the lawyers at bay. Other than that it's just good to see people come who want to keep the place useable.
