The DH race is June 19th & 20th...this is the weekend before the XC events so that means the crew will be able to put together a much better course since there is no conflict with the XC single track. If weather and time permit there will be a new 4x course and doubles for a DJ jam before Sat. evenings bonfire. Check here for updates as the date draws near. As usual there is on site camping, food and the bar will be open! Also, if you haven’t been to Nordic Mt they have wake boarding and you don’t need a boat. http://www.subarucup.com/eventsactivities/nordic-mountain-downhill-race-rideIf you're going to support any regional gravity event this is the one.....they actually care about the riders. Last year they asked for rider input on the class starting order and racer interval. This was in stark contrast to the other regional event in which they just collected our money & disappeared. J

we will be able to make our own events without the skinsuits there. fire jumping, b-line down the open ski run race, most chug a beer/do a lap runs.

Good to hear about course improvements, and have heard good things about this event in the past. Psyched about downhill events around here. .... But spreading a downhill race over two days unnecessarily?? Stinks big time. I thought this was a typo the first time I read it a couple days ago on the Subaru site. I already put calls into a few riding/racing friends and all doubt they'll be able/willing to spend two days and a night up in the middle of WI for a downhill race. I might go for one day, but certainly not camping out/getting a hotel to race day 2. I would love to support regional gravity events, but this is not a great idea from an attendance standpoint. There will be the hardcores that go, but not tying it into a multi event (Super D, Short track, XC and making it two days will hamper overall attendance)
Again---GREAT to see downhill racing in the midwest, but sorry to see it be complicated for no reason.
I can see your point but in the past it has always been a two day event. IMO I think it makes it a lot more fun, you’re not just rolling into town just to do one event and then leave. In two days you get to ride your ass off, hang out w/ people you only get to see once or twice a year, drink lots of beer, and be a spectator. If you like camping there are a bunch of options and if you have family the Dell’s are only 35-45 minutes away. My family and I stayed at one of the water park resorts w/ my friend’s family two years ago. Steve and I got to go ride all day long and the kids played in the kiddy pool while the wife’s got to go lay out in the sun.

Again---GREAT to see downhill racing in the midwest, but sorry to see it be complicated for no reason. EDIT: I spoke to man and this is what he said.... Practice and a race will be held both days so you may race either day or both, the over all winners for the weekend will take $$. Also, they extend their apologies for any confusion. To address your second point....the WORS DH race date was moved since it conflicts w/ the Superior Bike Fest so the change allows the Midwest DH'rs to attend both races....I too will the miss the eye candy.... ??.....the race is on Sunday.....show up, register and race....simple. As stated above Saturday is a practice/freeride day.
WORS DH race date was moved since it conflicts w/ the Superior Bike Fest so the change allows the Midwest DH'rs to attend both races........

According to the flier, both days are race days, both are at 2pm. Your placement is determined by the faster of your 2 times.

I'm not saying a two day mountain bike staycation wouldn't be fun. However, the reality is most people won't/can't dedicate the time to race two downhill runs on two separate days. Also, in my circle of riding people (10-15 guys) I don't see anyone wanting to camp out. I know that's sacrilege in some mountain bike circles. I'm sure it's hard to believe, but not all MTBrs like to camp hah.
