Yep if anyone cuts back poison ivy (thereby releasing all the plant oil all over the place...) don't pick it up and move it with your arms.

and a week later...

Luckily for me I have been whipping my legs with the brush but not one itch (well apart from a couple of mozy bites...)

That is sick...and not in that cool way.

I just put up an article to cover recognizing and treating poison ivy. It's plenty long, but if anyone sees that something important was omitted, just give a shout.

I actually had some sunburn blisters looking like that on my shoulders last year. Ended up taking my knife to them...

Naw, that's not a picture of me. It's from that same Poison Ivy site. The guy in the picture got that rash from weed-whacking.

I get poison ivy at SWK every year, usually just a few streaks here and there, sometimes a bad rash on one arm or leg.

If I have any doubt at all that I might have touched any, I wash off with rubbing alcohol (I keep a small bottle in my pack) before leaving the park. Rubbing alcohol cuts through the urushiol pretty well.
