Benefit for Rick Sakalas
(Prison Rick, they guy who has help build every trail at Palos
and always had a tool in his pack for you to fix your bike)
When: Sunday November 11, 2018
Time: 3:00pm - 7:00pm
Where: The Imperial Oak Brewery in Willow Springs (Behind the 7-11)

Last May Rick took a fall on his bike and became paralyzed from the neck down.  He spent over a month in the hospital and rehab clinic and has started to get some control of his legs and a little of his arms.
As you might guess the impact to Rick and his family has been huge and we are doing what we can to help with expenses, which there are many, and show he may not be riding with us today, but that doesn't mean we are not thinking about him.

There will be a band, tacos, silent auction (SRAM GX Eagle Group, Weekend House in MI and a whole lot of other cool stuff), and a Go-Slow Bike Race.
Wrist bands include a couple of beers and some food.  $50 for one wristband and $25 for your partner. Kids are free. (you don't have to buy a wristband to attend, Rick will be happy to see you)

There will be a fun ride for riders of all speeds at the Mountain Bike Staging Area (Maple Lake East) at 11:00.  Come on out for the ride and stay for the party.

Come on out and say hi to Rick and help him on his ride to recovery.
This is not a CAMBr event but CAMBr is 100% behind helping Rick.  Rick has always been there to help us, now is our chance to help him.

If you are getting advice from me, I would strongly suggest you get a second opinion.
